Faithfulness: I'll Be Right Here
By: Michael J. Foster

The faithless will be fully repaid for their ways, and the good man rewarded for his.
PROVERBS 14:14 NIV

It wasn't easy being far away from home, and life in the military proved difficult for a young Christian. Gina had only been in the service for one year, and had only been a Christian for six months before she was stationed overseas.

Having given her life to Christ, Gina turned away from her old life. No longer did she give into the impulses that once ruled her life. She was a new creature in Christ and sought to live her new life according to God's will.

But now that she was away from home, Gina found herself surrounded, once again, with the same temptations. More than ever, she relied on God's strength to see her through. In light of her many trials, Gina maintained a positive attitude, and did it with God's help. Gina's successes were the result of the fulfillment of God's promises, and served as an example of hope for those around her.

God is faithful to His Word and promises never to abandon you, but this does not mean that it is not possible for you to leave Him. You may ignore the leading of God and live your life according to your will. And while your faith may waiver with the changing circumstances, God's faithfulness is ever-present and unchanging. When your faith becomes fully reciprocal and you choose to dedicate your life to Him and His Word, He will bless your life.

Try this:
Like a detective, uncover the clues of God's providence in your life. Think about all the ways God has seen you through tough times or a difficult decision. As they come to mind, thank God for His hand your life.

A faithful man will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished..
PROVERBS 28:20 NIV

Love and faithfulness keep a king safe; through love his throne is made secure.
PROVERBS 20:28 NIV

We are never defeated unless we give up on God.
